What is Dreamwork?
Dreamwork can take many shapes! Generally, the term refers to the practice of being in conscious relationship with our night dreams and actively engaging with them to gain insight and guidance for personal and collective growth, healing and inner knowing.
Dreamwork may involve setting intentions for dreams (e.g. asking a dream for help making a decision), recording our dreams, tracking dream patterns (such as recurring dream themes; or observing how dreams might change throughout a Moon cycle), creating art from our dreams, sharing our dreams with others, re-enacting our dreams, spending time with emotions and symbols arising in our dreams and getting curious about how they relate to our waking lives, lucid dreaming, or even journeying back into a dream.
sometimes our dreams speak to us loudly
when they really need to be heard
Dreams can be scary, overwhelming, jarringly vivid; and they can be profoundly beautiful and liberating - or anything it between. Perhaps you have had a dream before that has stayed with you over time, because somehow there was something powerful about it?
Dreams can be portals into a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationship with the universe. Many indigenous cultures have revered dreams as sacred pathways of receiving guidance and insights from the spirit world.
The dream pathways are there for all of us. Sometimes, unearthing them just takes a little practice - just like most skills take time to develop.

What happens in a Dreamwork session?
In a 1:1 Dreamwork session, we will begin with a “dream intake” to presence your current relationship with your dream life, as well as any challenges or recurring patterns. You are invited to bring one dream, a dream image or recurring dream theme that you feel a desire to explore more deeply.
We may choose to work with plant allies (e.g. through tincture or herbal smoke) to support the process of dream exploration.
You will be invited to share your dream. From there, we will embark on an intuitive exploration, connecting with the characters, symbols, surroundings, actions and emotions from your dream and what they mean for you. Essentially, it’s a process of bringing aspects of the dream from the unconscious into our direct awareness, so that we can be in conscious relationship with them.
In closing the session, we will discuss any ways you may feel inspired to honour your dream, and provide you with guidance for deepening your personal dreamwork practices. If you desire to work with plants for dreaming, you will have the option of acquring medicines from my dream apothecary, or request a custom dreaming formula.
DREAMWORK F.A.Q.
-
No. I am there to facilitate the container for the exploration of your dream, helping you bring forth your intuitive understanding. If desired, I may offer reflections in the “If it were my dream…” style. It is not my interest or goal to tell you what I think your dream means - that only you as the dreamer can truly know.
-
You are welcome to bring any dream that you feel called to explore. It could be a dream from last night, from a few months ago, or from ten years ago. My dreamwork teacher Billie always says that dreams “don’t have an expiration date.” We can always continue to learn from our dreams regardless of how along ago they were dreamed.
-
Dreamwork sessions held in-person allow for us to make use of the physical space, e.g. re-enacting a dream (similar to the Embodied Dream Mirroring Method). In-person, we can also work directly with dream-enhancing plants through tea, tincture, or smoke-cleansing.
A virtual dreamwork session is nevertheless a potent space to dive into the dream realms primarily through our intuitive senses.
-
In my sessions, I use a fusion of many dreamwork methods and practices I have studied, learned and explored, depending on what is relevant or desired by the client. While drawing from symbology and mythology when connecting with dream, I tend to stay away from generalized dream dictionaries and interpretations. I support my clients in coming to understand their own, individual “dream language”.
