What is Embodied Dream Mirroring?
Embodied Dream Mirroring is a dynamic, experiential method for group dreamwork.
As our dreams are often vivid, multidimensional experiences, language can feel limiting when we seek to derive deeper meaning, healing and guidance through intentional dreamwork.
With the Embodied Dream Mirroring method, we allow for the multidimensionality of the dream to be recreated in a richer way. We do so through the use of space, physical movement, our voice, and expression of emotions; allowing for a more powerful felt sense of the dream, which can lead to profound insights.
During an Embodied Dream Mirroring practice, we sit in a spacious circle. One person at a time steps into the circle, beginning with the “Dreamer” sharing their dream in an embodied manner. The Dreamer is then followed by the “Mirrors”: After witnessing the Dreamer’s dream being shared in the circle, the other participants are invited to share an embodied reflection of what they saw, felt or noticed about the dream. With each mirroring, more layers and pathways of understanding of the initial dream are brought forth.
Embodied Dream Mirroring has been developed by Luna Lavender, inspired by the “Forum” practice originating in the community Tamera, the Projective Dreamwork method, as well as other intuitive dreamwork and embodiment practices.
